Ascension Academy Choir
Choir at Ascension Academy is a team opportunity to perform music that creates emotions in sound that speaks to the listener.
Beginning choir is introduced to solfege - a method of syllable singing, rhythmic activities and listening skills. Unison, part singing, and sight singing are reflected in performance opportunities through chapel, concert, UIL, TAPPS, Greater Southwest Music Festival, All-Region and All-State competitions.These solo and ensemble opportunities provide enriching musical experiences that help build confidence and self-esteem. The intermediate and advanced choirs continue building on this foundation.
New Song - Show Choir is an auditioned group designed to travel and represent Ascension Academy. New Song chooses the "Pop" style of music which is often enhanced with choreography. Use of microphones and other sound equipment and accompaniment tracs support the "Pop" style. Acapella selections are added for variety. Special uniforms or costumes delight the audiences.
