Ascension Academy Student Council
2000-2001
The Ascension Academy Student Council is dedicated to leadership within the school as well as representing Ascension to the public.
Students elected to the council this year include:
President-Rachel Arredondo
V. President-Mike McElroy
Secretary/Treasure-Katie Deane
Class representatives are:
Seniors- Mike McElroy
Junior- Micheal Gray and Rachel Arredondo
Sophomore- Dana Deane and Erica Swindell
Freshmen- Cole Hudson and Katie Deane
8th- Jim Arredondo and Bridgette Moore
7th- Elizabeth Hopkins and Dan Fletcher
6th- Michelle Reyes and Justin Balmes
The council meets once a week to discuss student needs and wants and to plan social and community service events for Ascension. Student Council-sponsored events for this year included a school dance, free dress days, a canned food drive and a book drive. The Student Council has also been in charge of money and concessions at the gate of athletic events and naming outstanding students for each six weeks. We are currently planning new community service events.
